ACTING COACHING FOR THE WEST MIDLANDS AND WELSH BORDERS
AUDITIONS & DRAMA SCHOOL PREPARATION LAMDA EXAMS CONFIDENCE-BUILDING
I first trained as a professional actor in the 1970s and worked on stage, film and TV. It was during ten years of "treading the boards" that I first discovered I had a talent and enthusiasm for teaching and directing as well. I then spent 12 years as Head of Drama at a girl's independent school.
I now work privately offering my experience in acting, directing and teaching to young people who need help preparing for auditions, particularly for Drama School or LAMDA / Guildhall examinations. Over the years, many of my students have gone on to achieve success in exams and auditions and gaining places at Drama School.
I also work with people preparing for public speaking or other performance, and people who want to grow in their self-awareness and confidence through acting and improving the use of their voice. I am also a professional teacher of the Alexander Technique, which is taught in all the major drama schools these days.
I have come to the conclusion over the years that a career in acting takes talent, technique, stamina, perseverance and guts (and a bit of luck!). But getting there is mostly about preparation. You can find more about how I can help you to be prepared with one to one coaching.
